surface preparation,

The wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%).
Osmo Once Stain is ready for use. Do not dilute. Stir well before use.
Thoroughly clean old microporous stains. Old paints, stains, oils and lacquers must be completely removed. In general, wear a dust mask when sanding.
The finished surface is affected by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a test treatment is always necessary, especially with unfamiliar surfaces.
If extra protection against blue mold, rot and insects is desired, pre-treat the wood on all sides with Osmo WR Base Coat if possible.

Method of application Osmo Once Stain,

Apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood along the wood grain with Osmo Flat Brush or Osmo Microfiber Roller and distribute well.
Approx. Allow to dry for 12 hours under good ventilation.

Tips for using Osmo Once Stain,

For new or sanded, ingredient-rich wood types (eg exotic wood such as Teak, etc.), you should take into account approx. 12 weeks of weathering before application.
The transparent color tone of the finish will be affected by the natural color of the wood and it is always advisable to test first.
Cracked or sawn woods are very porous and therefore require more material, resulting in less coverage.
Recommended application amount is approximately 35 ml/m². However, we always finish it ourselves in 2 layers so that it is nice and well covering and therefore resistant to the weather.

Below an English example film about this beautiful stain, only 2 comments about it,
1, in our very humid country 2 layers are really better, it is true that the color is opaque, but you will be able to use it for many years without re-treatment.
2, A sponge is used, but rather not do this.. everything is covered, it can only be done on super smooth wood, otherwise you will always tear the "expensive" cloth underneath and you actually apply far too little product, much it is better and more convenient to use the 10cm paint roller set below, you can work much more simply and neatly and the (much cheaper) loose paint rolls last much longer.
