Extra information,
Clear oils can darken the appearance of the wood. Use Osmo 3044 Raw or 3041 Natural to maintain the light character of oak.
Some woods are very porous and require a particularly thin application, which can extend the drying time.
Ventilate well during drying. After 2-3 weeks the surface is completely cured.
The top coat of clear Osmo Hardwax Oil Original can be applied after the first coat has dried. However, if the first coat was a colored Osmo finish (eg Hardwax oil on color Farbig or Decorwas transparent ), wait approx. 24 hours before applying Osmo Hardwaxolie Original as a topcoat.
For the top coating of Osmo white colors use white tinted Hardwax oils (eg 3040 or 3240) to prevent yellowing.
Recommended application is 35ml/m²
For exotic hardwoods use Osmo Blanke wax 1101,
A primer of Osmo Wood Protector 4006 is recommended for use in bathrooms or kitchens.
All-purpose cleaners such as dishwashing detergents and detergents are very harmful to the finished surface and are not recommended as discoloration or staining may be possible.
Other household cleaners such as chlorine, bleach, baking soda, etc. are likely to cause severe discoloration or staining.
Be careful when applying Osmo Hardwax Oil 3062 Matt on a dark colored surface. The matting agents in 3062 can produce a white mist or powdery effect on the surface. It is recommended to apply 3065 Semi-Mat if shine is not desired. With every option, always make a test first.
Instructions,
Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 18%).
Osmo HardwaxOil Original is ready for use. Do not dilute. Stir well before use with a flat stirring rod, stirrer or spatula.
Thoroughly clean old microporous stains. Old paints and varnishes must be completely removed. In general, wear a dust mask when sanding. Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in wood (with Osmo Wood Filler).
Sand wooden surfaces gently. Start with coarse sandpaper – final sanding for floors P120-150, for furniture P180. Before oiling the surface, remove sanding dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner.
The finished surface is affected by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always necessary, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
Apply thinly along the wood grain with the special lacquer roller or brushes below and distribute well. Leave for approx. 8-10 hours under good ventilation.
After drying, quickly apply a second layer also thinly. After 2-3 weeks the surface is completely cured.
When renovating or repainting an already oiled surface, one coat on the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.
Maintenance and cleaning, always all year round, simply follow the special maintenance plan, this is more than enough to keep your floor or furniture in good condition.
