Osmo Hardwax-Oil Rapid is resistant to water and dirt, is wear-resistant and provides a surface
with grip. Compared to conventional finishes, the natural vegetable oils and waxes ensure an even color and a harmonious, even surface.
Simple processing - without priming or intermediate sanding - saves time and money.
The open pore structure prevents the finish from cracking, flaking or flaking. Resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk and water in accordance with DIN 68861-1A - no water stains.
After drying, the finish is safe for humans, animals and plants (saliva and sweat test in accordance with DIN 53160, suitable for children's toys in accordance with EN 71.3).
Suitable for,
Osmo Hardwax-Oil Rapid is ideal for the protection of all types of wooden floors such as floors made of solid parts, planks, ship deck floors, OSB and cork floors. Also for furniture and other wooden objects and even for concrete, tiles, flagstones and other stone or leveling compound or cement finishes.
Instructions,
Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 18%).
Osmo Polyx®-Oil Rapid is ready for use. Do not dilute.
Stir well before use with a flat stirring rod or spatula.
Thoroughly clean old microporous stains. Old paints and varnishes must be completely removed.
In general, wear a dust mask when sanding. Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in wood (with Osmo Wood Filler).
Sand wooden surfaces gently. Start with coarse sandpaper – final sanding for floors P120-150, for furniture P180. Before oiling the surface, remove sanding dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner.
The finished surface is affected by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a test is always necessary, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
Apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood along the grain of the wood with the following flat brushes and/or paint rollers or floor brush and smooth out well within 10-15 minutes. Wipe off excess product.
Allow to dry for approx. 4-5 hours under good ventilation. After drying also apply a second layer thinly and quickly. Avoid covering during drying and curing. After 2-3 weeks the surface is completely cured.
When renovating or repainting an already oiled surface, one coat on the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.
info,
Oils enhance the natural tone of wood (permanent wet effect). Excessive application of the product and insufficient ventilation lead to drying delays.
For dark and extractive-rich hardwoods (eg Wenge, Merbau, Jatoba etc.) we recommend using Osmo Blanke wax 1101. A trial is recommended.
With cork surfaces, due to their high absorption capacity, please note that the wood finish is applied very thinly. Longer drying times (minimum 6-8 hours) should be taken into account with cork.
If a higher gloss level is desired, use Osmo Maintenance Wax very thinly and polish after drying. Avoid using Osmo Maintenance Wax on surfaces that have not dried and cured properly.
The use of general purpose cleaners will increase the frequency of maintenance and repainting. Allow the finish to fully cure before heavy use.
Always maintained according to the maintenance plan, see here,
